Someone else is trying to rip you off and scam you, not Lenovo. Replacing a whole lid on 2-y.o. ThinkPad with a fully new panel won't cost you as much as that.

This laptop would be perfect with Zen 4 7040U Phoenix If it weren't for the fact that it has the iGPU XE IRIS that hasn't been updated for 4 years and its manufacturing at 10nm vs the AMD competition at 4nm.
