Owning this computer for more than year now. Overall a solid device, but its potential is a bit nerfed. The vapor chamber with a good thermal paste (I applied liquid metal-based one) is capable of handling more power than the allowed TDP. I will even put it so that a good thermal paste is must. On the other side in Performance mode the CPU Turbo-boosts all the time even on simple tasks. One essential thing is to have a stand (not necessarily with active cooling) for better airflow. A simple lift of the back side does wonders to the temps. So far this machine handled Baldur's Gate 3 on ultra and Final Fantasy 7 Remake in 4k on high settings without any problems. The claimed battery life is a joke, in Battery saver mode doing only text editing in Word you would be looking at 2 hours of battery time at max. One problem that I have been having quite often is that the laptop failed to start after Sleep so that I had to force restart it.

The test is unfair and without disclaimer it seems like a deliberate mistake. The issue is with the RAM and the usage of only one module. The difference for the CPU and especially for the iGPU is up to 70% increase! The conclusion that the 680m is losing to Iris 96 is ridiculous. The reality is that the AMD option is beating the Intel graphics in every single test, on most occasions with leaps ahead.

The 680M performance test is WRONG - you made it using only ONE BANK memory ( single channel ) thats why the result was so poor comparing to IRIS XE 96 - if you would occupied secend slot and made dual channel it will incres significantly to 680M avrage a spacialy with ryzen 7 HS series CPU !! you have to do it one more time because its very relevant if you consider powerconsumption under load ( graphic adapter works ad full but it can't communicate with shared memory at full speed )

The placement of the power cord didn't matter for my work when I was an IT admin, because we bought models with docking station capability (usually one for home, one for work) and that worked great. I don't know what that is like now as I haven't been in IT in 6+ years, but I do remember that the market was turning away from docking stations, which sucked. To place a laptop in one was relatively issue-free, got users working within seconds. It seemed like they were migrating people over to USB-style docking stations with DisplayPort, and it was *much* more buggy. This HP Sure View feature existed back when I was an Admin and I avoided it back then. Seemed like several steps backwards for my users. We just tried to teach people to be mindful of what they displayed on the screens in public areas. Never an issue.

I see that bullying from mental freaks is happening deliberately, with the connivance of the forum administration. I never insulted first and they know it. Unfortunately, there are very few normal people on the planet. This is a fact, this became especially clear after 2020...

Or here is 865 G10 - what prevented them from output usb-c ports with USB40/PD symmetrically from 2 sides closer to the rear edge? Like as 2 audio outputs are also symmetrically? Let me remind you - laptops of 15 years ago had 3(5.1 scheme) interchangeable audioports (headphone/lineout/line/microphone) and also had a built -in optical SPDIF in one of 3 ports. Now there is simply no audio port with a galvanic denouement from the laptop chains - this is the fact of the downgrade of audio capabilities of laptops in 15 years. Now, a only one 4-pin audio port is everywhere for all series laptop, and the most fragile and poorly compatible with headphones in which a 3-pin plug-this is actually the entire real Hi-Fi+ equipment. I remember the presentation of Intel (еще в Tiger Lake), where their managers said that they specially projected TB4 controllers so that it is convenient to remove the ports symmetrically - on left and right side. And what do we see in practice - greedy redneck manufacturers always bring them out (find a model with a symmetrical location of the USB -C/PD ports on the market) on the 1st side, saving on matches! Yes, and in the most stupid way, on the left, most often in business series! The most inconvenient for right-handed! This is the pure rednecking of the design departments and the intended distortion of their left-handed designers for right-handled buyers.
lmao
imagine the effort of typing all this when everyone is just laughing at your ignorance day after day. that's like three longreads back to back right there lol. sad part is it's just some kind of mental disorder, almost every fact is hallucinated, posts are useless
